Saver's Switch. It's what all the cool people are doing this season.
It's a very cool program from Xcel Energy designed to manage air conditioning use during the hottest days of the year. All you do is sign up below...and you'll receive a credit on your energy bill for participating! We'll do everything. Once you sign up, we'll attach a small device outside of your house near your central AC unit that cycles it on and off for short intervals during the hottest days. You don't even need to be home for the installation.
Your furnace fan stays on, circulating cooled air; the difference is just a degree or two...but it helps everyone on those days when the need is greatest. But if you feel your comfort has been compromised, you are free to opt out of the program at any time.
